Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

We wrote this privacy policy in normal language because life's too short for walls of legalese. Here's the gist: we don't track you, we don't hoard your data, and we frankly have very little information about you in the first place.

The Short Version

Toolsvu was designed from day one to stay out of your business. There are no user accounts to create, no logins to manage, and most of our tools do their thing entirely inside your browser. We can't see what you're doing with them because the data literally never reaches us.

Tools That Run in Your Browser

A big chunk of Toolsvu, text tools, JSON formatters, color pickers, encoders, generators, calculators, and plenty more, runs purely in JavaScript on your machine. When you're using one of those tools:

  • Whatever you type or paste stays on your own device
  • Zero data gets sent back to our servers
  • We physically cannot access, read, or save what you're working on
  • Close the tab and it's gone, nothing persists

This isn't some future roadmap item. It's baked into the architecture. Our server sends you the page, and after that, your browser handles the rest on its own.

Tools That Need a Server

A few tools, image compression, PDF merging, video conversion, that kind of thing, genuinely need server-side muscle. Here's exactly what happens when you use one of those:

  1. You pick a file and upload it
  2. Our server does the processing (compress, convert, merge, whatever)
  3. You get the finished file back
  4. Both the original and the output get wiped from our server right away

There's no secret folder sitting on a hard drive somewhere with your uploads in it. Files live on our server for the handful of seconds it takes to process them, and then they're gone. We don't archive, review, or reuse anything.

Analytics, What Little We Gather

We do look at basic, anonymous stats to understand which tools people actually use and whether the site is performing well. That means:

  • Page views, which tools get opened
  • Rough geographic region (country level, derived from IP, we don't log IP addresses themselves)
  • Browser and device type (so we know if something's broken on Safari or Firefox)

None of that is tied to you as a person. No names, no emails, no fingerprinting. We just use it to figure out what to work on next and catch performance issues early.

Cookies (Or Lack Thereof)

We store one thing: your dark/light mode preference. And technically that lives in local storage, not even a proper cookie. That's the full list.

No tracking cookies. No advertising cookies. No session cookies either, because there are no sessions, remember, no accounts. If you wipe your browser data tomorrow, the only side effect is your theme resets to the default.

Third-Party Stuff

We pull fonts from Google Fonts. Google might collect some basic request data when that happens, their font privacy FAQ has the details. Beyond that, we're not loading anything from third parties.

No social media tracking pixels. No retargeting scripts. You won't see Toolsvu following you around the internet in sidebar ads, that would be creepy, and also we'd need your data to do it, which we don't have.

We Don't Have Your Personal Info

No accounts means we're not sitting on a database of:

  • Names or usernames
  • Email addresses (unless you deliberately write to us)
  • Passwords
  • Credit card numbers or billing details (everything's free, so there's nothing to charge)
  • Any kind of individual usage history

If you reach out through our contact form, we'll obviously have whatever you put in that message. We use it to reply to you, and that's where it ends.

GDPR and Data Rights

If you're covered by GDPR or similar laws: since we don't collect or hold personal data, there's really nothing for us to hand over, correct, or erase. That's kind of the whole point.

If you've emailed us and want us to delete the conversation, just say the word, we'll handle it. And if you've got any other data-related questions, we're happy to talk it through.

Kids and Privacy

Toolsvu is a general-purpose utility site, not aimed at any particular age group. We don't collect personal data from anyone, adults, kids, or otherwise. No accounts means no age gates, but also no data to worry about. If something concerns you, get in touch.

If This Policy Changes

It probably won't change much, because we'd have to start collecting data first, and we're not planning on that. But if it does, we'll update the date at the top and make a note on the site for anything significant.

Questions?

If anything here is unclear, email [email protected] or hit our contact page. We'll get back to you quickly.
